The vision of FLN mission is to create in enabling environment in all aspects to ensure our Universal acquisition of FLN in primary classes by 20 25 so that every child achieves the desired learning competences in reading, writing and numeracy at the end of class 3 and not later than class V.
For an individual's all round development , childhood - the early life of a child is very very important. Therefore, ECCE is very essential and necessary now a days, which not only focuses on all round development, but in other wider sense as well.
The early years (0 to 8 years) are the most significant period of growth and development in a child's life because this is when the foundations are laid for holistic development and all learning. After grade 3 children are expected to be able to 'read to learn'.

The curricular system proposed by the NEP 2020 i.e. 5+3+3+4 underscores the importance of initial five years for children. Evidence suggests that most of the brain development among children happens by the age of eight years.
ReplyDeleteThe aim of FLN mission is to ensure that children learn in a joyful manner through play, stories, rhymes, activities, local art, craft and music and develop strong foundations for lifelong learning. The mission outlines learning outcomes which have been designed in a spiral and progressive manner from Preschool to grade three aiming at holistic development and learning.
This goal is an overarching goal which includes development of competencies related to physical, socio-emotional, and psychological health and well-being of children for life. This goal continues to provide experience for health and wellbeing, socio emotional development, health, nutrition, hygienic practices, and safety.
ECCE is putting a foundation that will remain strong in terms of thinking skill, language usage, number sense and proper application of numeracy litrarcy.

ReplyDeleteFLN mission is make a strong base for the students in the pre school to grade 3 so that they have better understanding to literacy and numeracy and can cope with the change of level of learning in grade 4 onwards. Grade 3 is the turning point, by this stage the child should be able to understand, read write numbers, paragraphs stories. We need to focus more on developing phonical awareness and sound discrimination, and visual perception and visual association right from early childhood stage to help children develop into better readers and writers in future. The foundational learning period is a crucial phase for the development of intellect, ability, physical growth, mental maturity, and values. Focus should be on how to make a child learn and apply instead of jus mugging up the things.

ReplyDeleteIt is a known fact - stronger the base, stronger is the construction on it. The same applies to ECCE - the foundational stage of education. If the children are handled well at this stage, everything else will follow smoothly. For this, we need to think of ways in which the children grasp the basics without their been told that they are being taught. For this we can follow the principle of - things(here, basics) are caught not taught.

As the name indicates ECCE itself aims for the overall development of the learner. It aims to cater for the social, emotional, asthetic , cognitive, affective and motor abilities development.
It caters for the physical, mental and social well being of the learner.
It caters for several opportunities to the learner as well as educators for progressive development of learners from diverse backgrounds, multilingual needs and different academic abilities. So that the objectives of FLN can be achieved .As NEP 2020 emphasize on the quality of ECCE as it is the way to achieve FLN in its full bloom. The role of ECCE in achieving the goals and objectives of FLN is to ensure each is valued, respected, feels safe and secure and develops a positive self-concept.
