Children, every child is is unique and their learning style too is different. They learn by doing with different situations around them through different methodology. Also they take different things differently and related to their pre-knowledge (culture and tradition) then they explore and come to certain conclusion with regard to the new concepts and then to reflect on the situations. So, this is how they take the thing and reflect or act then.

ReplyDeleteStudents with unique learning styles need unique way of teaching.. Creating the environment and providing the way they like to learn
ReplyDeleteOne of the most accepted understandings of learning styles is that student learning styles fall into three categories: Visual Learners, Auditory Learners and Kinesthetic Learners. Identifying your students as visual, auditory, reading/writing, kinesthetic, learners, and aligning your overall curriculum with these learning styles, will prove to be beneficial for your entire classroom.Keep in mind, sometimes you may find that it’s a combination of all three sensory modalities that may be the best option. Allowing students to access information in terms they are comfortable with will increase their academic confidence. The term “learning styles” speaks to the understanding that every student learns differently. Technically, an individual’s learning style refers to the preferential way in which the student absorbs, processes, comprehends and retains information. For example, when learning how to build a clock, some students understand the process by following verbal instructions, while others have to physically manipulate the clock themselves. This notion of individualized learning styles has gained widespread recognition in education theory and classroom management strategy. Individual learning styles depend on cognitive, emotional and environmental factors, as well as one’s prior experience. In other words: everyone’s different. It is important for educators to understand the differences in their students’ learning styles, so that they can implement best practice strategies into their daily activities, curriculum and assessments. Inquiry-based learning can make great use of technology through online research sites, social media, and the possibility for global connections with people outside of the community.

Children must be allowed to express their ideas and understandings on a particular topic. Different activity-oriented teaching will help the student to develop their learning skills. They will actively participate in class.

Rate of developmental growth differs for each child. How they perceive, comprehend and analyse their surroundings also differs. Hence it is very essential that the learning experiences provided to children are well planned and offer a wide range of experiences to them. There should be different tools for learning which can consist of audio visual teaching aids, first hand experiences by offering them opportunities to touch, feel handle teaching learning materials which will cater to different learning styles and will help in producing the desired learning outcome.

Yes, every child is unique and their learning style is different. A child has its own capability of learning, understanding and expressing. Some are good at speaking whereas some are good at expressing their thoughts by writing. To make the subject material effective, illustrative and to make the process of teaching and learning interesting a teacher need to reach out to every child by different innovative methods of learning. For children who are good at speaking a topic can be assigned from the lesson and can be given to explain and demonstrate in their own words and examples. For overall participation of each and every student, a teacher can conduct quizzes on the given subject material. Activities related to arts can be assigned to students who are creative, in order to bring out the little artist out of them. By adapting these unique learning styles a teacher can create a healthy environment for learning and growing with the new concepts. And both the students and teacher enjoy the process of learning.

ReplyDeleteYes. I do believe that every child is unique. Their learning styles too differ from each other. Children would like to explore more, if the learning environment is friendly. The child learn better only when the class room should be child friendly with different corners with children learning materials. For example, books (touch and feel, board books, picture books, story cards) for word smart children. Building Blocks with different shapes and colors to bring out the learning outcomes with self learning activities by children. Facilitator should know the learning styles of children like, auditory or visual or kinesthetic . Facilitator can do the formative assessment and assign small task by adding little challenges for all type of learners. Auditory learners will ask more questions to facilitator to learn more. Visual learners needs more colorful materials /books /puzzle boards/ clay/ Self learning materials should be in reach of child and it should be safe. So I believe self learning is best and it is unique for every child.
