It is not only to go with the books but to create an environment without book is a tough task. We can ask few questions to them which will related to their personal experience. It gives a chance to explore them with their experience and slowly we can turn them towards book.
Learning can be best done by observing rather than memorising books only . So for secondary students ,showing videos , chart , flow chart etc in the class should be helpful in better learning. Interaction between lectures is also helpful.
SCIENTIFIC THINKING AND DEVELOPMENT AREA: Creative an eco friendly and close to nature environment and methodologically organising and arranging a study area to learn EVS subject with full enthusiasm, curiosity and comprehension. It can include working models of water wheels, wind mills, electrolytic cells, electric circuit models spring instruments, force, pressure movement models etc
From CST Darjeeling Yes, I can develop an environment where I can involve students for language learning by introducing language games such as 'stop the bus' game , "naming game", "whose ?" "who will wear the cap" etc. Again for spelling development peer work can be practiced not only to check time, but also to let them learn their mistake from others' mistake. Beside that they will learn new things too.
In relation to a Art I will ask students to pick various objects available and create a picture using the objects. Then encourage the students to mention what each one has created.
In relation to Dolls and Dramatic play I will create small groups of 4 to 5 students. Then encourage students to pick any 2 objects of their choice and settle down with the same group members. Then asks every group to do sorting. Finally every group will say on what basis the sorting was done.
A few ways of creating learning environments are: Addressing student needs, Creating a sense of order, greeting students at the door every morning, avoiding judging students, letting students getting to know you, avoiding rewarding to control etc. If we make the most of our natural environments and collaborate to create environments that work for everyone we can improve our learning environments.

Allow students to express their thoughts and ideas, build relationships, and practice collaboration. This will help grow and maintain a feeling of emotional safety in your classroom. When displays of essays, poems, projects, and exams dominate the walls, there is student ownership of the room. When they look around and see their own writing and thinking, they certainly experience a higher level of comfort than if they see store-bought posters. That said, if informational posters are needed, ask your students to create them. Students appreciate when we show our humanity. Saying "I'm not really sure. Does anyone else know or might they like to look that up for us?" is powerful stuff. I like to read. I don't just tell you this and grade you on how much you read, I read side-by-side with you. You see my facial expressions as I struggle to understand something difficult and you see when I feel emotion at a sad or funny part. I am a reader, too. Once a teacher loses it with a class or student, it takes a long time to rebuild that feeling of safety and trust within those four walls. Step right outside the door and take a few breaths. It's worth it. Take Every Opportunity to Model Kindness. They will follow. Mingling lets you monitor their work, yes, but it also gives you a close view of any tensions or negative energy brewing with groups or between students. Also, circulating gives you great opportunities to overhear a student sharing an idea or question that you can use with the whole class. The antiquated saying in the teaching profession is wait until Christmas to smile. This is just plain silly. Let the children see those pearly whites often and genuinely. The more smiles we offer to students, the more we will receive. It's so much better when ideas and solutions come from the student. This is a chance for us to ask rather than tell: "What might be some things you can start doing so you complete your homework on time? How about I write them down as you tell them to me?"Sitting in a chair made for a child is not the most comfortable thing for an adult. But joining a group of children at their table takes us off stage and let's us, even just for a few moments, become a member of the group. We might ask a strategic question, inquire about the group's project, or simply listen. Include art and music in your lessons.
In a class there should be a math center, language center, free play center, blocks center , role play center, art center. Children should be given the freedom to choose the center they would like to be in and these centers can be interdisciplinary. When children are given a choice they feel appreciated and loved which builds their confidence.

In the classroom add more interactive sessions, role play activities, story enactment and hands on activities with various materials. Children should be given one to one opportunity to express their ideas ands views. There should be group activities where they learn to share and interact with peers which is an essential part of learning.
Pretend play, story telling, rhymes session, group activities, culmination day, engage them in art based activities like drawing, music, dance, clay play, multisensory activities etc
We need to create positive learning environment for children where they can grow and develop their knowledge and skills. More focus should be on children's interest. They should have freedom to explore and research on topics/ lessons of their choice. Facilitator's should try to identify their learning styles in order to help them improve their learning.

The following things will give children a conducive learning environment 1. Work job areas or learning centers with ample of age and content appropriate resources/manipulatives 2. Approachable and non-threatening environment for students where the child can approach teacher without any fear. 3. Walls acting as a third teacher - where relevant flashcards, materials are displayed for quick and easy independent access, so their learning is not hindered on dependent solely on teacher instructions or intervention.
Learning is everywhere in our life,in our daily routine work, house hold work every where. The problem is we don't involve them in this and only focus on bookish knowledge.we have to involve them in the kitchen ,in the daily chores ,shopping, classroom cleaning, arranging desks and talking about science in all these tasks. kitchen is full of science, arrangement of furniture sharpens their spatial skills.Just think out of the books and there are so many ways we can teach them about Mathematics,Environment science, art, and what not.
If it is English then we can teach poems by tunning it and singing. If it is EVS ,then every material or part of lesson should be compared or taught with real life application. So that chidren can understand it in a better ways and can realize what is the use of learning EVS
Teaching environment sensitivity by creating a small classroom vegetable or flower garden, seeing the plants grow and taking care of them. There is a lot that can be learnt by being around plants - not just academic concepts but also values and life skills.

Now a days so many ways are coming to give knowledge to studentd . The best was as per my knowledge is to give practical and digital knowledge by showing the example over projector , by giving the proper structure of particular scenario, by giving the homework to check the ability how childrems think
We need to create a learning environment by creating such environment where they can learn in that environment and from that environment. We can teach them by giving some pictures and ask them what they have observed in that picture. Different teaching aids which can generate the interest of students should be used while teaching learning process. Experiment oriented teaching also attracts the attention of students. Apart from this examples from our day to day life can be used to make them understand the related topic.
We have create the environment for children, which is related to the topic.so that they will get more involvement in into the subject. We can give real time example for the concepts. That will help the children to understand quickly and easily.
We need to create positive learning environment for children where they can grow and develop their knowledge and skills. More focus should be on children's interest. They should have freedom to explore and research on topics/ lessons of their choice. Facilitator's should try to identify their learning styles in order to help them improve their learning.
In order to create learning environment for the children it should be kept in mind that it should be child centric. maximum exposure should be given for learning by doing. various corners can be created inside the classroom such as art and craft corner, dressing up, maths corner etc.
Meena Shivdas, AECS 3, Mumbai An ideal pre-primary classroom should have the right kind of atmosphere which will stimulate the minds of the children by creating curiosity and an interest to explore their environment. This can be achieved by creating the right environment. If my goal is to achieve foundational literacy and numeracy i will create a reading corner by displaying age appropriate books and encourage the children to handle the books which is the first step towards an interest for reading. There can be a corner or an area with objects like bottle tops, ice-cream sticks, beads etc which can be handled by children and they can satisfy their own learning needs , for eg. one child may use the beads for stringing and another may sort them by colour thus proving that the same object can be used to achieve different learning outcome.
Parul Bansal. As a Social science teacher i would like to create an environment where children are exposed to maps of country, world globes for them to explore. Story books of historical characters and a small stage where role play of characters could be performed.
Yes, I can develop an environment where I can involve students for language learning by introducing language games such as 'stop the bus' game , "naming game", "whose ?" "who will wear the cap" etc. Again for spelling development peer work can be practiced not only to check time, but also to let them learn their mistake from others' mistake. Beside that they will learn new things too.
Every picture says a word. Every situation speaks about something. Children should be given freedom to express themselves . Guidance can be provided through right selection of content by the teacher.
An ideal learning environment for the children under 6 years of age group must cater for independent unstructured play opportunities. It must allow age appropriate play and learning activities facilitating students to explore, discover and create. It must also be a safe and secured space for young beginners. It must have an ambience for heuristic play and imagination.
To create a learning environment for my children, I would like to arrange the learning resources in a systematic manner which allows the students opportunity to explore. These learning areas would have age-appropriate safe and secure learning manipulatives. These resources may be arranged theme-wise based on the requirements of the curriculum but should provide enough opportunities of free and unstructured play
Children respond well when the learning environment is conducive. I would make the resources available for them and given them ample opportunity to explore for their holistic development.
Build Positive Relationships Through Communication Promote Class Discussion and Peer Interaction Staying Connected with Students Come Up with Projects Students Can Get Excited About Create a Sense of Order and Routine Positively Reinforce Good Behavior Take Care of Yourself and Maintain a Positive Mindset
All these are required for a positive and conducive learning environment.
Create friendly environment Give sufficient time Let them know .... nothing wrong if they do mistakes Good motivation and encouragement Creating interest
Listening to them, hearing them, giving wings to their imagination by being one of them.making them believe in their pure and raw thoughts, shaping and nurturing their idea with yiur experience. Self belief Self motivation Leting them explore the unexplored Be it the matrial or imagination
To create a learning environment for the children, I could have a shelf with books on a variety of subjects like stories, craft, art, science, etc. Another area/corner of the class could have creative material like chart/coloured paper, crayons, colours, etc. While teaching in preferably every lesson, the children should be allowed to make some kind of a project involving different materials.
Giving wings to a child's imagination by involving yourself along with them is very important. Hands on activities and letting them to explore and learn will help in the overall development of the child. Friendly environment, staying connected, giving them sufficient time and motivation will ensure the development of child in all areas.
Learning can be best done by observing rather than rote learning. For primary school students ,showing videos , charts , flow charts, playing games, activities etc in the class should be helpful in better learning. Interaction between lectures is also helpful.
Make the environment learner friendly. In the classroom add more interactive sessions, role play activities, story enactment and hands on activities with various materials. Children should be given one to one opportunity to express their ideas ands views. There should be group activities where they learn to share and interact with peers which is an essential part of learning. Also get students to discuss their problems in learning a particular concept and address the problem in a friendly way.
By creating happy zone of learning for children. Children can be taught through storytelling , fun games,art/ dramatic ways and project based method. We can correlate our teaching topic with their personal incidents. It gives a chance to explore them with their experience and slowly we can connect them with the topic given in their books.
We try to make interesting quizzes and create friendly environment for the children . Children can be taught through storytelling, art, dramatic ways and through pictures.
Learning can be best done by observing rather than memorising books only . So for secondary students ,showing videos , chart , flow chart etc in the class should be helpful in better learning. Interaction between lectures is also helpful.
Make the class room an interesting place by including various hands on activity corners as follows. 1. Building activity - building blocks 2. Art and Craft activity - Colouring books, Play dough 3. Library - Picture books
We will creating learning environments for our students .These are: Addressing student needs, Creating a sense of order, greeting students at the door every morning, avoiding judging students, letting students getting to know you, avoiding rewarding to control etc.
Let's the Content be :" Animals" for Grade 1 , for which planning will be done to take out the full potential of learners and achieve the desired LO.
1. Library &literacy corner with books on animals.
2. Discovery or science corner with scrap sheets and various pictures of wild and domestic animals.
3. Dramatic play. A short play with a group of say 6 learners enacting voices of animals and speaking lines about the animals they are enacting.
4. Art corner Students will make props like mask, tail , nails etc and will collaborate with Dramatic play .
This will cater to the needs of each learner and being their hands on activity , drama and art will not only achieve desired LO but also holistic development of learners.
Group learning helps the students to lesrn more quick. Teachers can encourage students for group studies by giving the best group a gift. Everytime the group members to be changed so that students can share their thoughts and knowledge to everyone.
By creating positive learning environment for children where they can grow and develop their knowledge and skills. More focus should be on children's interest. They should have freedom to explore and research on topics/ lessons of their choice. Facilitator's should try to identify their learning styles in order to help them improve their learning. Environment should be such to interest children of different types of intelligences.
To create a learning environment for our children, a teacher needs to create curiosity and intrest among the students for the given study material. A teacher can recite a poem with actions and songs. Lessons can be explained in the form of stories. A teacher can show charts, flow charts, videos, by playing games etc in class to make the learning more attractive and intresting. Observation plays a significant role in learning. Make the students to visit parks, museum, zoo, post office etc for enjoyment and to create more intrest and to explore.
I would like to create a learning environment for our children in such a way that, child should choose the way they would like to learn, it can be from books, toys, puzzle games, concept cards, story cards, music instruments or anything they use to learn something new. It is facilitators responsibility to make the child learn in safe environment with peers. I always believe that, child learn better when the choose something to learn by them through self initiative. Apart from prerequisite, once the child gets curious to know something, then learning takes place automatically in child friendly environment and with peer groups. If needed i may take help from parent to make child learn better outside the classroom too.
Learning environment can be created through the following- Build positive relationships through communication Create a sense of order and routine Staying connected with students Promote class discussion and peer interaction
Do you believe that every child is unique and their learning style is different? If yes, how will you cater to the different needs of your students in your classroom? Share your thoughts. Steps to be followed:
According to the World Bank, 37% of children in the world are forced to read and write in a language which they neither speak nor understand. What kind of challenges these children must be facing? Share your reflection.
Do we have to start teaching languages by introducing children to the alphabet? Should children be familiarised with the letters in sequence? Share your thoughts.
Think of your own ways to create a learning environment for your children. Share your thoughts.

ReplyDeleteIn order to create learning environment for the children it should be kept in mind that it should be child centric. maximum exposure should be given for learning by doing. various corners can be created inside the classroom such as art and craft corner, dressing up, maths corner etc.

ReplyDeleteAn ideal pre-primary classroom should have the right kind of atmosphere which will stimulate the minds of the children by creating curiosity and an interest to explore their environment.

ReplyDeleteAs a Social science teacher i would like to create an environment where children are exposed to maps of country, world globes for them to explore. Story books of historical characters and a small stage where role play of characters could be performed.
Yes, I can develop an environment where I can involve students for language learning by introducing language games such as 'stop the bus' game , "naming game", "whose ?" "who will wear the cap" etc.
ReplyDeleteAgain for spelling development peer work can be practiced not only to check time, but also to let them learn their mistake from others' mistake. Beside that they will learn new things too.
I would create self learning environment for kids...
ReplyDeleteEvery picture says a word. Every situation speaks about something. Children should be given freedom to express themselves . Guidance can be provided through right selection of content by the teacher.
ReplyDeleteThat’s so very true that environment is the third teacher.
ReplyDeleteAn ideal learning environment for the children under 6 years of age group must cater for independent unstructured play opportunities. It must allow age appropriate play and learning activities facilitating students to explore, discover and create. It must also be a safe and secured space for young beginners. It must have an ambience for heuristic play and imagination.
ReplyDeleteTo create a learning environment for my children, I would like to arrange the learning resources in a systematic manner which allows the students opportunity to explore. These learning areas would have age-appropriate safe and secure learning manipulatives. These resources may be arranged theme-wise based on the requirements of the curriculum but should provide enough opportunities of free and unstructured play
ReplyDeleteChildren respond well when the learning environment is conducive. I would make the resources available for them and given them ample opportunity to explore for their holistic development.

ReplyDeleteSelf belief
Self motivation
Leting them explore the unexplored
Be it the matrial or imagination
To create a learning environment for the children, I could have a shelf with books on a variety of subjects like stories, craft, art, science, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnother area/corner of the class could have creative material like chart/coloured paper, crayons, colours, etc.

A teacher can recite a poem with actions and songs. Lessons can be explained in the form of stories. A teacher can show charts, flow charts, videos, by playing games etc in class to make the learning more attractive and intresting. Observation plays a significant role in learning. ReplyDeleteI would like to create a learning environment for our children in such a way that, child should choose the way they would like to learn, it can be from books, toys, puzzle games, concept cards, story cards, music instruments or anything they use to learn something new.
