    In order to create such an environment
    posters either out of pictures or magazine pictures or newspaper cut outs can be collected,
    alphabet charts can be prepared, picture Books Collection for children for easy reading extra can be done.

  8. For basic literacy and print aware for meaningful reading 'Print - rich' learning environment play a vital role. Label the classroom things and furniture like door, window, chair, dust bin, racks, cubbies, boards, fan, etc. so that they frequently read and understand the meaning reveal from each word. Secondly sight wall with different words, number wall, theme boards and foyer boards as per theme need to be labelled with words. Stationary items for drawing and labelling, book shelves and other things help these young children to read at a faster pace and with better understanding.

  15. Print rich environment means an environment which is rich in many forms of prints such as written words or pictures, display boards, directions, signages etc.
    We can make our classroom print rich by labeling all the furniture and activity corners, by putting alphabets , sight words, rhyming words on display boards, by displaying number chart, word walls etc. We can enrich our classroom with prints by keeping a lot of age appropriate book, calendar, days chart, color charts and keeping paper, colour pencils, etc.

  29. A 'Print - rich environment' is the way language immersion takes place in the class. Further, children will also ' learn to read' so as to 'read to learn'. A 'print-rich' class ideally refers to the availability of materials at the eye level of the child. Some of the following methods are-
    1. Naming the things found in class.
    2. The names of the children in the place they sit.
    3. Word wall / Vocabulary words from the books they read
    4. Stories of the read programme books in big font at the eye level of the child
    5. Rhymes sung by the children in chart to be hung at the eye level of the child.
    6. Regular revision of the words learnt by the children in written form at the eye level of the child.

  32. Learners learn through various environments. One of them is Print environment where things are displayed in print form ie written form.
    For meaningful reading or reading wwith comprehension it is necessary for children to come in contact with print environment.

    Print area can be created in the following ways:

    1. Labeling classroom objects in large fonts. Eg. Racks, cupboard, chalkbox etc.

    2. A wall with a sightwords corner and number, alphabets corner based on learners level can be done .

    3. Classroom can be decorated with clock, colorful charts on various topics.

    4. A writing area can be created where learners can scri le, write , draw and paint according to their wish. And later their work can be displayed on the string in that area.

    Creating such areas make them feel happy, confident, innovative and satisfied leading to holistic development .
