ReplyDeletewe can have activity based assessment like we give them some shapes (plane/solid) they speak about their colour ,shape,faces,edges& corners. we can think of some other activity like this.
ReplyDeleteAssessment may be based on activities and there may be flip classes too to check the level of understanding for the concerned subject..
ReplyDeleteWe evaluate the children's progress periodically. Assessing children is a continuous process throughout the year. We follow the informal evaluation techniques like observations, interviews, checklists, collecting data, children's work for portfolios as well as analysis of children's products. These evaluations can be for the whole program or for a specific area such language, art, mathematics or dramatic play. The objective is not to compare with other children or to judge the child, but to evaluate progress in growth and development through play and inform parents about it.

At the foundational stage students can be assessed in 7 domains such as cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, language development, socio emotional skills, I am good at and about personal awareness by creative a curriculum which is activity based. Other than writing skill in languages it doesn't involve paper pen assessment,
ReplyDeleteAssessment may be based on activities and that can be done every day as it is the continuous process .we may follow the techniques like observation, viva, peer work, group work or discussion.
ReplyDeleteCognitive assessment, Activity based assessment, Assessment to judge the socio emotional skill along with fine motor skills, peer observation, interview etc to name a few.
ReplyDeleteBesides pen-paper test, group discussions, project work in small groups are assigned for assessment.
ReplyDeleteAssessment needs to be continuous and done at regular intervals.
ReplyDeleteActivity based assessment is always interesting. Learner never feels that they are assessed by someone.
ReplyDeleteLearning is a continous process and so is the assessment associated with it. For Learning to take place it is necessary to plan activities in such a way that after assessment desired competencies are achieved.

All strategies to be planned according to level of child and subject to be taught.
Group duscussions and activity based assessment will be more useful for the students.
