Adapt and adjust everyone to a common mission, face new challenges and adhere to the demands of the children. Effective collaboration between all the stakeholders involved in school and also clear communication is needed
As a School leader, I would firstly outline my vision for effective FLN implementation. To ensure effective implemention, I would need to integrate the management, staff and parents to make them aware of their role in enhancing the child's functional numeracy and literacy. The key factors being collective and collaborative effort with team spirit. The environment , location ,social and economic conditions will affect the planning and execution of FLN. So the stake holders primarily being the management, administrative heads, school head, department head, teachers and lastly parents are need to work together for effective implementation of FLN methods of learning and teaching.
Actively engage with all stakeholders for building a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Help families by providing them with parenting skills and family support, make them understand the phases of child development, its complexities and ways to cope with it. Help schools understand backgrounds and cultures of families and their goals for children. Create reliable communication channels between school and home to communicate with families about school programs and student progress. Enable educators to work with volunteers who support students and the school. Involve families as volunteers and as audiences at the school.
Effective collaboration between speech and language therapists, special educators, and teachers is essential in meeting the needs of children in school, this will help to fulfill the needs of the children.
It is tested and the ECCE also aims that the brain developed during 1 to 6 years is phenomenal. If the children are provided conducive environment we can notice a development in cognitive and motar skills of the child. Which will further lead to have an inquisitive learner.
As we know Effective collaboration between speech and language therapists and others involved in school related work can sort out the problem, that the students are facing can be be sorted out together.
Stakeholders in the form of school administration can provide with basic infrastructure that provides a conducive environment for imparting education. Here, inclusivity is to be kept in mind in the form of special washroom, ramps, resource rooms etc. Stakeholders in the form of school teachers can be engaged to create effective lesson plans to include the learning needs of all children. This includes extra/special classes for below average students, special needs students and also the HOTS. All children should be able to contribute positively to the classroom learning. Parents as a stakeholder can be engaged in the form of volunteers and also through regular feedbacks can be included in the mid course correction for their child's learning. Keeping them updated also helps the child in getting a supportive environment at home. Special educator can be engaged to cater to the needs of special learner. Therapists can also be engaged to contribute for the same.
A whole gamut of stakeholders are involved in the school setting. Management must be vision driven and work in collaboration with other stakeholders to chalk out clear plans for implementation of FLN goals. Teachers should be motivated, FLN learning outcome oriented and come up with innovative and enjoyable teaching learning strategies. Parents should be made aware of importance of FLN and motivated to contribute their might and knowledge into the process. Other staff too have a significant role to play in terms of providing hygienic study environment. Special needs can be addressed via special educators and infrastructural improvements.
The staff must take the lead to provide stakeholders the data and other information they need to be productive partners around student achievement. Partnership activities must be directly aligned with student achievement goals. Efforts must be collaborative and genuine. There are meaningful roles for each party to play and these must be clearly articulated. Information sharing must be transparent. Achievement data must be clear, accurate, and meaningful. All parties must operate from common values and a common vision for student achievement. All efforts must be mission-oriented and data-driven.
School setting is possible only when all stakeholders join hands namely Management, Teachers, Parents & also special educators. Management can ensure smooth functioning of school by providing better infrastructure and work in tandem with Teachers & Parents to include the implementation of FLN Goal. Teachers must plan well and chalk out the plan keeping in mind the FLN goals - better teaching learning strategies that are fun, effective lesson plans. Parents need to be made aware of the FLN goals and they need to be included in activities at school
Allow Your Child and Yourself to Experience the Stress. Cut Your Child Some Slack. Talk to Teachers About Your Concerns. Talk to Fellow Parents. Let Your Child Have Playtime With You. Keep Open Communication With Your Child. Plan a Play Date.
A qualitative study involving a diverse range of key stakeholders and using appreciative inquiry. This is a method which enables those involved to construct their ‘ideal’ about a topic of interest. Recruitment was carried out using purposive sampling. We conducted focus groups with practitioners (SLTs and teachers) and parents as well as semi-structured interviews with children who have DLD using ‘draw and tell’ techniques.
To adapt the learning needs of children of 3-9 as a School Leader, teachers should engaged to create effective methods and lesson plans to include the learning needs of all children. Management should ensure smooth functioning of school by providing better infrastructure and to include the implementation of FLN Goal.
Develop family-friendly policies and laws to encourage participation by diverse families. Provide professional development for school teachers on family and community engagement for school. Provide training to community stakeholders and parents to help them develop effective communications and partnering skills
To outpour the learning at the given age, I would work with different zones to channelize the lattice model of the school. As a pedagogical leader, I would collaborate with fellow teachers to implement best innovative practices for the overall development of the child. The implementation and review to select the best practices and add on further. Here, my role would be like a diesel in the engine that means to gear and develop learning culture for teachers as well as students. Teachers through different net surfing and PD capsules with reflective teaching can change the scenario. Low cost No cost resources, ICT skills and open ended manipulatives with self corrective equipment and much more empowered each member in the teaching-learning process. Second step is the partnership with the parents. Involvement of the parents and community through different events like nukad drama, a day with my family, parents-teachers meeting, making learning visible, celebrating grandparents day, balmela, festivals and voluntary helpers from family or community to support the school function. Third steps are the administrator and other school management for providing economical support like buying good books for the library, art kits, activity materials, ICT tools, gross motor equipment, toys, etc. As a teacher I would also work on the inclusion of each student...remedial classes, gap bridges and differently abled learners will be on a regular basis adhered through academics and life skills processes through a special educator team.
Share your positivity :Reflect on the experiences provided by you to children in the early years. Are all children being provided the same set of instructions and have fixed testing schedules or variation in learning is accounted for?
