ReplyDeleteIts absolutely the right approach to involve parents in the development and smooth functioning of FLN programmes. One difficulty which we may face, is when students are unable to followup the in the implementation of FLN at home because sometimes they miss out on instructions and parents may not have enough knowledge regarding the activities and concepts .The fun workshops mentioned and once a fortnight updation from school/teacher side regarding the programmes can keep a close tab on the progress and nature of the ongoing process.

ReplyDeleteIt's important to involve all in the progressment of a child. But when sometimes it fails like children and parents not being able to fulfill the things which the teacher wants for the development of the child, and the administration too.
In such cases only coming together to solve the problem works best and at the earliest.
Parents can participate at school by helping with functions or activities or communicating with the teachers. They can also be involved at home in many ways by guiding their children to manage commitments and engaging in discussions about values and attitudes regarding education.
ReplyDeleteWe most of the time face the irregularity of students in school, in this regard SMC AND PARENTS could help ...by realizing the importance of attending the school regularly.
DeleteParents can always help the school by participating in the various activities of the school.Apart from school even at home the parents are always there to guide the children.
ReplyDeleteParents can be involved in the classroom activities, Parents can be orientated about the Education Policy. Share their experiences, knowledge with kids by being the part of teaching.
ReplyDeleteParents involvement would create a huge impact, as sometimes students may miss out on certain things and that is when Parents or the Teachers can come together to help in activities in and outside school.
ReplyDeleteI am having very bitter experiences of my childhood time. Actually I was from village background and it was very difficult me to read, write and understand English in my class. So I think friends are our best teacher in boarding school. I think that in general schooling our parents, relatives and home tutors would had helped me to overcome from this problem.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great idea to involve parents and communities for the progress of the FLN mission. One of the challenges might be faced if parents themselves are uneducated or are too busy to get involved with their children. For this schools may try giving them solutions relevant to their situations so that their involvement increases.

ReplyDeleteThere is always a solution to every problem one encounters , provided one is open minded and has flexibility in thinking. One often comes across few problems like bridging the gap between what is done in class and what can be done in continuation at home. Effective communication between the teachers and parents under the guidance of the school Principal and various stakeholders will help in bridging this gap. through various workshops and meetings the parents can be made aware of what can be done and how it can be done at home using the resources available at home. SAC can also be roped in to act as a mediator between the school and parents thereby creating a feeling of oneness and belongingness in all , which will lead in the achievement of the common goal which is the holistic development of children.
In order to meet the objectives of FLN ,involvement of parents is very important in a child's early learning years. For efficient learning to take place ,parents need to revise the work done in school. parents should attend the PTMs organised by the school and can get to know the areas where they need to work with their child for improvement.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is difficult to understand the behavior of the child that why he is behaving so differently at that stage being a parent....they can guide us that in so and so situations...the child is prity obvious to behave in that manner....both of us can discuss and find a solution for it.
ReplyDeleteParents must be involved in the development and smooth functioning of FLN programs. Absenteeism often leads to children in missing out the detail. A copy of the same on mail to each child becomes difficult in a large class.

ReplyDeleteNEELU ARORA - As we know every child has a unique window of his own through which he experiences and understands this world. For instance some are outspoken but may demand more clarity about things whereas some may be introvert but might be absolutely clear about things etc. Now let's take an example of a child who's writing is extremely slow, so most of the times he misses the information, explanation and interaction held by the teacher, now here because of his extremely slow handwriting he misses to listen, to understand, to participate and to experience everything which is a big loss for him. Now if in such case the teacher practice some writing speed improving techniques with the child in the classroom and shares the same with the parents to be practiced at home, that can result in much improved speed of writing as well as potential listening of the child in class which can open a door for him to understand, participate, explore, experiment as well as experience everything which he was missing earlier.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to involve parents and communities for the development of FLN programs.
ReplyDeleteBoth parents and the teacher should be involved in the teaching learning process of the child. Inputs and advices of both can help the child to grow.
ReplyDeleteSMC works as a bridge between the school and the parents. There are many occasions when we take the opinion from the SMC members before taking final decision. Calling the students to school to attend the offline classes, taking the consent from the parents etc. are such issues which were amicability resolved with the supports of SMC and parents.
ReplyDeleteFor an effective preschool partnership program, it is very important to have a strong parent School partnership. Since children are very young at the foundational level they need continuous guidance and support both at school and at home.
ReplyDeleteInstructions have to be simple and clear to avoid the duplication or confusion instructions it is pertinent to understand that correct teaching methodologies and sequences. Teachers must communicate with parents and family members on a regular basis both formally and informally and share updates. Teacher and parents have to be on the same page. Many schools organise events, PTMs, Projects, Assignments & Excursions where students work with an adult member of their family or a parent
Regular interaction with the parents help in providing proper guidance and better learning to the children. Teachers and parents have to be on the same page for the benefit of the chidren.
ReplyDeleteThe main aim of the SMC's, Teachers, parents and various stake holders is to enhance the growth of a child and tap the innate capabilities of the children. As we take suggestions and opinions from the SMC's and various stake holders for improvement of the school, the same can be done for the growth and development. There is no problem that has no solution. If the teacher or the head of the institution is not able to get solution they should communicate either with the parents or the stake holders and get solutions for the same. Counselling the students by giving extra attention is another way of getting solutions for the problems. This can be done with the consent of the parents.

ReplyDeleteIf the child is first generation learner,it becomes difficult to involve them in academic activities but they can be encouraged to develop a discipline at home about studying hours and involve them in activities where instructions may be in their mother tongue.
ReplyDeleteIt's conducive for the childs progress . Parents and communities can be used for understanding the Child better. For helping the Child not only at school but also at home.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the current scenario and even otherwise, it is essential that all stakeholders involved in a student's life - parents, teachers, school management, work hand in hand towards the progress of the child.
ReplyDeleteThe school advisory committee act as a liaison between the school and the parents. They are approached for various aspects of the school like, switching from Online to offline teaching, infrastructure readiness, etc.
Parents are to educated more through PTMs and by conducting orientation programmer along with school management.
ReplyDeleteParents play an important role in bringing up child to the class level,They should definitely be involved in the learning process to make child comfortable with the concepts taught. They should be given monthly orientation on topics that are to be done in next month.Their valuable feedback improves the areas where children need to be focussed. They personal and mental situation should also be taken as a casestudy.Counselling of the child and parent together will help getting our goals.
ReplyDeleteA healthy interaction between Parents and teachers is very much required for a positive approach to education. Both parents and the teacher should be involved in the teaching learning process of the child. Inputs/ advices/suggestions of both can help the child to grow healthy and wise

The roads approaching the school should be wide and free of any vehicles so that children can safely reach the school. SMC and parents can convince each other for the same
Convince the parents about FLN mission and its importance, their smooth relarelationship with school authorities will help their own child 's development.
ReplyDeleteMain problem we are facing is educational status of the parents. So we have to educate them.

ReplyDeleteThe best question asked which is faced by almost all teachers.
From my opinion following points needs to be addressed by parents:
1. Sending of notebooks and books to school ie following Timetables.
2. Assistance to the child at home in task assigned for home which is generally the continuation of the topic taught in that particular day in the class.
3. Turning out on PTM or whenever called upon by the teacher.
In the following way parents can be approached :
1. By a call or hand written note.
2. School committee meeting to be scheduled atleast twice a month to address such parents.
3. Telling them about the importance of FLN mission and their great role in it.
4. Last but not the least visiting the child's home and interacting with family members can be the best solution.
Parents can participate at school by helping with functions or activities or communicating with the teachers. They can also be involved at home in many ways by guiding their children to engage in discussions about values and attitudes .

Teachers must have cordial relationship with the parents. Both should know about the child well. Parents are to be involved in school activities and their suggestions are to be encouraged.
ReplyDeleteParents can always help the school by participating in the various activities of the school. Apart from school even at home the parents are always there to guide the children.
ReplyDeleteParents are to be approached with a positive attitude. And giving them clear-cut ideas and instructions on what is to be done in a relaxed but timed manner would do wonders to enhance FLN skills.
