Think about indigenous toys/learning materials that are very famous from your State/ UT and share your ideas how you can use them in teaching learning of different concepts, skills etc..

    1. In Maharashtra , specially in Sawantwadi, Sindhudurg district is famous for wooden toys. These toys include fruitplate , different dolls like joker , human being ,lady wearing shree ,vintage cars , kitchen set, wooden ships , different artists, business men ,etc . The se toys are painted beautifully. Using these toys we can develop creativity , social emotional awareness . We can use them in stories, dramas, identifying colors, fruits different objects- their use, counting , heavy -light, big -small, language development.

  2. In my state Punjab wooden toys are very famous especially kitchen toys,furniture and truck etc.such toys can be used in teaching ,for teaching modes of transport n familiarize child with daily used items and different shapes

  3. In Delhi firms have stalls established at Delhi Haat. These firms make hand made toys using daily usage clothes and cheapest materials.

  5. In UP wooden toys from Saharanpur and simple clay toys of mathura are famous. In science I had used them to compare traditional and modern chulha, adaptive features of fish, pigeon,etc.

    Nirmal toys are traditional Indian wooden toys made in the town of Nirmal in the Adilabad district in the Telangana in India. The Telugu movie “Radha krishna” is based on these toys.

    Nirmal Art, encompassing a 400-year-old tradition of making soft wood toys and paintings, occupies a place of pride in the world of handicrafts. 
    These toys can be used to introduce the learning about pre mathematical concepts of seriation and develop creativity, comunicate,problem solving, self-determination, fine and gross motorskills along with understanding of colours ,shapes and socio -emotional skills.
